Running Head has a tiny, two-member team, each with nearly four decades of publishing experience.

Chitra Viraraghavan

Chitra Viraraghavan is a writer, novelist and book editor, and has a PhD in English. She began her publishing career with Oxford University Press India, working on academic books in the areas of literature, and humanities & social sciences, as well as collections of poetry and school textbooks. As freelancer, she has done work for many publishers including HarperCollins and Sahitya Akademi. She is the writer of several primary- and middle-school textbook series, most recently for Orient BlackSwan. Her books include The Americans: A Novel (Fourth Estate/HarperCollins India, Harper360, US), a co-edited anthology, Madras on My Mind: A City in Stories (HarperCollins), and a child’s memoir of her great-grandfather, Delhi Thaatha: A Great, Grand Story (Seagull Books). Watcher of the Skies, her second novel, is forthcoming.

Krishna Shastri Devulapalli

Krishna Shastri Devulapalli is a writer, columnist, novelist, playwright, screenwriter and illustrator/cartoonist. His columns have appeared in The Hindu, Scroll and Deccan Chronicle. He has worked in publishing as book designer, cover designer, children’s book- and school textbook illustrator, besides as writer of textbooks and original children’s stories. His books include the novels Ice Boys in Bell-bottoms (HarperCollins), Jump Cut (HarperCollins) and Sentimental Spy (Juggernaut), the non-fiction work How To Be A Literary Sensation (HarperCollins), the co-edited anthology Madras on My Mind: A City in Stories (HarperCollins) and a successfully staged play, Dear Omana: Notes On How To Be A Literary Sensation. His book of personal essays on culture, The Artful Dodger, is forthcoming.
